I’m spending 2 days in Kyoto the first weekend of September. I pretty much have all the attractions planned, but as far as restaurants, what are some places I should visit? Looking to keep it 1700 yen or less a place if possible. Ramen is the favorite for me and my girlfriend, but sushi, izakaya dining are good. If there’s good yakiniku, I’ll pay the price for it though.

For ramen in particular there’s no shortage of food options right around Kyoto Eki. We always end up at ramen alley on the 9th floor of the station itself for at least one meal every time I visit.
There’s always the place by the station that ALWAYS has a line. https://maps.app.goo.gl/7vNiTNsJFmcMTGZ46?g_st=ic

My favourite ramen restaurant is called “Musoshin” in Gion. It’s pretty easy to find, cheap, and foreigner friendly. The broth is out of this world.
