My wife and I are looking to renovate our house in Osaka. These are the work we wanted to do and the general ballpark quote from a construction company.
1) Replace the main entrance door.
* 370,000 YEN for a new door
* 180,000 YEN for parts and labor
2) Install new bathtub + convert water heater from gas to electric.
* 500,000 YEN for a new tub
* 250,000 YEN for a new water heater
* 300,000 YEN for parts and labor
3) Toilet room work
* 200,000 YEN for a new toilet
* 250,000 YEN for parts and labor including retiling
4) Air conditioning installation
* 80,000 YEN for two air conditioner
* 120,000 YEN for parts and labor
I am not familiar with home reno prices in Japan. I’m more familiar with ballpark cost of work done in the states. To me, these prices seem completely outrageous.
Please let me know if you also have recommendations for other construction company around the Osaka area that you’ve used before.
