About %0 interest installment payments and credit cards as a foreigner

I’ve moved here around 1 month ago and I am about to make some purchases like furniture, home appliances, pc parts etc. I have 3 years visa and a salary.

I’ve seen posters around shops that advertise %0 interest rate, 36 monthly installments each with different credit cards.

1) is that true or is there some catch? %0 rate with 36 month payment seems way better than paying in lump sum. I can invest the money elsewhere.

2) I’ve seen threads that say it’s very hard to get credit cards as a foreigner. I’ve tried applying online to Rakuten and they have declined, I don’t know if I mistyped sth though..

3) Looks like each store advertises a different card, does one need to get 10 different cards to be able to benefit from these campaigns? Or are there general good-use cards that offer such things (36 month is just an example, even 6 months is good)

4) Are they just not worth it and should I just use my debit card for everything?
