Took a day trip from Shibuya to Hakone yesterday and Kamakura today. If you can, both are so worth it!! Even if you can’t do everything, the Hakone ropeway will definitely be a highlight of my trip, and Hasedera in Kamakura was absolutely gorgeous. We were able to see Fuji from the ropeway even though it was a cloudy day. We also saw Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, Hokokuji temple, and walked along the beach in Kamakura. There are some used kimono shops between Hasedera and Hase station that were also very affordable and the owners’ helped my boyfriend and I with dressing and were super helpful. They had casual kimono for as low as ¥1500 if you’re interested in that sort of thing.
Both trips had stunning views, so I would recommend trying them even as day trips if you can’t spend overnight!
