I am moving near Gojou Station, Karasuma line, Kyoto in September this year. I will be getting 214k jpy per month after deducting income tax, social insurance, health insurance, employment insurance and rent(including furniture). Is this income livable if I will be cooking at home I am not a picky eater and very comfortable with japanese food, going only 3-4 times a month to eat out, I will also be buying a bike to cut down on transportation costs in long run ? Apart from my personal expenses and utilities, groceries, household supplies what are the mandatory expenses I will have monthly or yearly ?
Also please give some tips to save money on groceries like where can I buy cheap groceries ? Best deals on cross-bikes !
