Hi everyone, I want to be a teacher, specifically a teacher in Japan teaching English. By the time I get to Japan I’d have my bachelor’s degree in education, my teaching license and TEFL certificate as that is what I am in university for (I’m in the USA). I’m also currently beginning Japanese in preparation. I want to work as a direct hire at a public or private school as the main English teacher not an assistant English teacher. Based on these future qualifications would it be possible for me to do this and how would I go about it? I’m aware of a special license but don’t know much about it or if it would still apply if I already have a teaching license. Also if you were me what would you do to get to that position? I just want to make sure I know what I’m getting into beforehand. I appreciate any advice you can give me.
