Hello,
I’ll be moving to Japan for graduate school in a couple of months, and the student housing I wound up in is Hyakunincho, a little bit north/northeast of the Okubo/Shin-Okubo stations. Was wondering if anybody had any tips or insights about this area. Personally I like how close it is to shinjuku station, the apartment itself is new, and it’s convenient enough for me to get to where my classes/lab will be.
I’ve seen some people post saying around those stations is “sketchy”, but I’ve lived in a US city my whole life and when I traveled to Japan last year, I felt way safer in Kabukicho than I’d feel in probably half of my city. Any advice or opinions is appreciated. Thanks!
