I'm arriving in Tokyo at the end of August with a 1 year visa, and I understand I need to get a residence card and sign up for health insurance. My question is, how long after arriving can I get the residence card? The reason being I'm arriving in Tokyo and staying there in an airbnb for 3 weeks before moving to another city where I plan to stay for the rest of the year and get a more permanent apartment.
I've heard in other posts I can choose to not register an adress right away (only need to do it after I get a permanent adress in a month or so after arriving) not sure if this is correct and/or what to say at the airport when I arrive.
