Will I be able to do overseas freelance work in Japan on a student visa?

So I’ll be moving to Japan in a couple of weeks, and I was wondering if I would be able to continue doing my freelance work. I know of the 28hrs/week work time and if the work itself counts towards those hours and if I’d be able to do freelance work. They’re usually paid to my personal PayPal and not through the bank account.
