I'm in Japan as a university student which allows me to apply for a spousal visa on behalf of my partner. My SO and I weren't super keen on getting married right away so we decided to get her into the country through the work and travel visa for now and then try to find a different means of staying. Time for that is running out at the end of the month (I know, you don't have to tell me) and we still haven't found anything, so we're considering the spousal visa again.
Since the visa is about to expire, I would say there's no way we're getting the COE on time, so I wanted to ask if anyone knows about a grace period while waiting for the COE/Visa process that lets her overstay her visa so we can avoid having shell out on last minute plane tickets
Any help would be greatly appreciated
