Exchange semester to Japan

Hi there!

I'm a European (International) law student who's considering going on an exchange semester to Japan in the next academic year. While there are not as many options compared to (for example) more technical studies, my uni offers exchanges to both Rikkyo university and Tohoku university.

While Rikkyo university seems to be more suitable with an actual law programme (Tohoku only offers a complete liberal arts programme from what I could see, so lessons on law would be quite limited), I have heard so many positive things about Tohoku I am finding it really hard to choose.

Academic strength isn't my main concern considering it is primarily a cultural trip for me, but of course I would like to go to a decent university. Other than that I would love to be able to do judo at the university, but I believe both unis have judo clubs. Of course any experiences with this I would love to hear!

I suppose I am just looking for people who have gone to either of these universities and if so, what was your experience like? I think I'll enjoy my stay regardless of what I pick, but I would love to hear from people who attended these universities.
