Hey, I will be starting an intenship at Sanwa Comtec in Tokyo, Japan for a role of Systems Engineer III this January (hired by JTP and will work for sanwa comtec as per my fte contract with JTP, Sanwa is JTP's Partner). I am going for sure unless i have a different and a significantly better option coz this is my best option so far.
A word about the following would be much appreciated:
- senior-junior relationship
- work-life balance
- work pressure
- Punctuality about log-off hours is as strict as log-in hours as well?

- Experiece: Fresher
- College – Tier 3 (India)
- Role's Tech stack: Cloud + Devops + Networking + Security (this is the info that i have)
- My Tech Stack – Web-dev (Nest, Next and all of that side), AWS, Redis, SQL
Future Timelines:
- Last Week of November: The Visa application will be submitted
- 5th Jan 2025 (Tentative): I leave for my 28 day internship in Tokyo.
- July-August 2025: FTE Joining if offered
I already am working in a Startup since Feb 2024, though it was so early that i am in the founding Engineers. They are starting to make revenue just recently and i am recieving my stipend since last 2 months. Its less than what would make me happy but i understand the revenue hasn't gained any momentum. It being a startup and me being one of the early members, i am comfortable and in regular touch with the CEO and CTO and obviously there is the entire situation for ESOPs and their potential. I can have a FTE offer from them as soon as my Academic situation permits. I already know the entire code-base and am handling a major part of the backend.
The image that the JTP officials have made in front of us until now (the process has taken a few months now, including a month of training) is that its a very healthy sitaution to work in. Strict working hours (i see the upside that log-off hours must be strict as well), horizontal heirarchical attitude, allowances by the company, 5 day working, Buddy system for us to settle well in the 1st year. Though as per my current view, the role is going to be a mix of customer handling for understanding of requirements and then system design and other things.
