Hi! We’re a British/American family considering a move to the Aomori area for work, and I’m looking into international schools for my 5-year-old who will be starting primary/elementary school.
We plan on taking Japanese lessons at home, but I’d love any recommendations for schools that might offer a supportive environment for kids going through a big transition like this/not yet fluent in the language .
Also, I’ve heard mixed things about how international students, especially non-white students (we’re black British & African American) , are received, and bullying is currently a big concern for me.
Lastly, how hard is it to get around for a non-driver?
I’d really appreciate any insight or experiences you might have. Thanks in advance!
