Weekend college while on JET as an ALT: Feasible?

Posting from a throwaway account as I would like to keep my personal profile private. So – I'm considering applying to the program, and I wanted to get some advice about the feasibility of pursuing weekend college courses while working as an ALT. There's a weekend degree course I am really keen on pursuing, and it is designed for working professionals so in theory it should be doable. But I'm sure that those of you who've already gotten there might have a different perspective.

Any insights from current or former ALTs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

PS: Would also appreciate advice on whether this may potentially negatively impact my application if disclosed initially, as the contract stipulates that applicants should be available for weekends when needed (which may not be possible for me half of the year when college is in session)

EDIT: I would like to thank everyone for their insights. I get the overall sense that, while it can be hectic, it is doable, but that is highly dependent on where your placement is and the nature of work. Further, I may be missing out on other aspects of the JET experience if I choose to take this path. Thanks again to all those who commented!
