3 months gap between visa expiration data and job starting date, is it possible to extend visa?

So I have a job offer that wants me start 3 months after visa expiration date but I don't know what kind of visas are possible to apply for to remain in Japan during the gap if possible at all? My current visa is student (language school) if that helps.
