My wife and I are very interested in moving to Japan for 1-3 years. If it becomes longer, that could happen but we aren’t planning on it.
I currently work for a US tech company and my boss has given me the okay to work abroad where they will just pay me as a freelancer.
I have heard several times of companies in Japan that will “hire” you and sponsor your visa. Then, the foreign company will pay the Japanese company, and the Japanese company will pay you (minus their fee).
I’m having trouble googling more information about this service. Does anyone have experience or know of reputable businesses that offer this service. Maybe there is a Japanese term for this that I don’t know.
Any advice is helpful.

P.S. My wife’s plan is to either teach English while I keep my USD salary or take a tech job in Tokyo.
