Hello, I'm exploring potential countries to move to, as the current situation in my own country is on the decline economically freedomwise etc.
So when I was younger, I was very interested in living in Japan, but eventually gaveup on this idea because I heard very negative stories life in Japan mainly centred around work-life balance (10+hr days Mon-Sunday) and treatment of workers recently, I've become interested in Academia so was wondering if maybe life is considerably better pay/work-life balance wise I'd likely do a PhD in Machine Learning or Quantum computing or if academia doesn't work out become a Machine Learning Engineer/DataScientist, what is the work schedule and compensation you'd likely be looking at?
How is your personal life within Japan? How was it to find friends you can be comfortable and open with, etc tell me about your general experiences.
TLDR: How is life in Japan as an Academic within the field of Computer Science? Or life as a Machine Learning Engineer/ Data Scientist within industry? What is the work schedule and compensation you'd likely be looking at?
-Thank you to all who respond I await and appreciate your advice 🙂
