Hey everyone, I would like to get you guys opinion and advice on a quotation we got from an International Moving Company. We’re moving from a Western European country, and we asked for a door to door service, with our self-packed boxes, that take in total : 170cm long, 110cm wide, 120cm high, which makes, according to our calculation : 2,25 cubic meters.
Their total price is 563,000 yen (usd 3700/ eur 3500) , excluding insurance.
Take a look at the quotation (edit : I can't post pictures yet, so I put here what's included in the price and isn't needed/is off)
– The volume in cubic meters seems off (4,50 cubic meters gross)
– They won’t need to supply any packing stuff (– Supply of all required packing materials) nor pack boxes (Packing of smaller items into our cartons for shipping) since we did it ourselves.
– Also they won’t need to unpack our boxes at destination (Unpacking of cartons to a flat surface and re-assembly of furniture which was disassembled at origin by the crew and removal of all packing debris at the time of delivery), we’ll do it ourselves too.
COMMON EXCLUSIONS
– Import Customs taxes or duties, Customs inspections, fumigation and quarantine charges if applicable
– Storage in transit at origin or destination, warehouse handling, port demurrage or port congestion charges if applicable.
– Additional charges related to the access at destination such as stair-carry, long-carry, crane for items which do not fit the elevator or stairs, parking permits or any other extraneous fees, if required, delivery on Sundays or national holidays
What are your takes and advice guys ?
