Hello, I’m an engineer in the tech field and have had a very hard time landing interviews because I currently live in the US and have no work visa. I heard it would likely be much easier to land interviews and get hired if I was already in the country, so I am considering moving to Japan as an English teacher first, and then try to move back into tech. However, I’m not sure how the typical teacher contracts work and if this is feasible. Of course I’m not trying to put the English instructor in a bad situation, but my end goal would be to secure a career job. Are there short term contracts by quarter, or how/if/can I get out of it say like at the end of a quarter if I happen to land a tech position? Thank you very much.
