Taiji Ishimori should go down as one of the best of his generation

Guy is 22 years deep on his career (more than half his life) and is still putting out high quality work, not showing his age at all. His show today gives me a lot more respect for him as an artist as well. It was so creative and not something just any wrestler could've come up with.

The industry is lucky to have guys like Ishimori

  1. I remember first watching him as KENTA’s junior partner (specifically, the all-timer of Ishimori & KENTA vs Marufuji & Ibushi) and thinking “this guy’s pretty damn good”.

  2. Never got why some people were down on him, guy is one of the best juniors around and has been for years and years.

  3. I first saw him when NOAH had the partnership with TNA around 2016. I thought he was like a young rookie who I would strap a rocket on the back of for title runs etc only to find out he was already a solid vet. Made me a bigger fan, really wish from the times I’ve seen him that I could just get a picture with him or an autograph

  4. Did something happen on his show? I forgot about it and didn’t watch, but been seeing lots of posts about him today

  5. When Dragon Kid had to pull out, it was a given that >! Dragon Dia !< would replaced, but i was secretly hoping Ultimo Dragon would appear.

  6. I have always thought Ishimori to be one of the absolute best juniors around in any promotion.

Dude puts on damn good matches, sells well, executes damn near every move to perfection, has a deep repertoire of moves and always makes his opponents look good.

Oh, and dude is absolutely jacked.

  7. Hard to believe he is 41. I follow him for years and he always looked like he was 28. I never got into Hiromu and some other Juniors, but I was always high on Ishimori. Hope he gets many more good years.

  8. 41!!! I thought he was younger than that. Plus, after Douki, he has the next best hair.

I’ve admired Ishimori from the first time I saw him in the 2010s. I really liked him and ELP as a tag team. It’s been past time for him to win BOSJ.

  9. Guy’s been awesome forever.

He also reminds me of the Yakuza lad from Simpsons in the white suit who’s standing there about to do something awesome v the Mafia, and Homer misses it

  10. Haven’t seen the show but yeah, he’s been a beast for a long ass time. I still remember when he came to NJPW, … was really there like “hold on I recognise those abs”… the gaggery of it all. Love him!

  11. I still remember his run in TNA when they were on their down period. Was there X division champ for a bit too I believe

  12. I don’t know if I’m tripping but Ishimori vs Takahashi at the BOSJ 2018 Finals is one of the best matches I’ve ever seen and no one talks about it
