I am moving to Tokyo, from Sydney for language school and eventually continuing to post-grad studies. I am bringing my cat with me, and I was wondering if anyone has any advice regarding housing. Should I rent an apartment (with a contract and everything) before I leave Sydney so that everything is ready by the time I arrive? Or would it be better to inspect everything before I decide to rent? I found some short-term rentals, however, they all require a month's rent for bringing a cat with me and are non-refundable. Has anyone been in this situation? If anyone has any suggestions for housing options, please let me know.
