I’m looking for a high-quality Japanese TTS option to integrate with my Anki deck. Price isn’t a concern, I’m more interested in how advanced the technology has become. What’s the most advanced option available right now?

Mediocre at best. It pales in comparison compared to Japanese developed stuff like VoicePeak which can sound very convincing; without even bringing pitch accent into the equation. Nothing really comes close to ElevenLabs quality wise but the cost reflects it, I’ve had reasonable success running VITS based stuff locally.
Speaking of resources, I bought a vocabulary ebook in my language so I can copy it into Anki, but when I convert it to Word the pages are all images and Google Lens is really bad at scanning and the furigana drives it crazy too.
I would have made a post but it won’t let me do it because I’m a new user. Some advice, please.
