If you ever get a chance, you might like the VN Chaos;Head, which is about a late 2000s shut-in. There’s a ton of era accurate net slang in the game, including how people would get around saying blocked words. It is worth noting that Seinfeld basically posits the opposite, George is demonstrably at his best when he remains the master of his domain.
This ruined my views on naruto’s sage mode 🙁

the better one that i rarely see people talk about is the use of 魔法使い to describe an older male virgin. the joke was that if you’re still a virgin at 30 you can become a wizard because you’re so good at casting a barrier shield around yourself. or something like that.
