Pardon my ignorance. For example sometimes I see Dotonbori, sometimes Dotombori. Nippombashi vs Nipponbashi or even Nihonbashi. I’m sure there are more. What part of the language are these spelling nuances attributed to? Just want to know if there are rules to this.
