  1. Just about to start heading over to the venue, flew 13 hours, gonna be worth it (I hope)

  2. GOTO MANIA LIVES!

2025 is gonna be the year!

    I BELIEVE!!!

    (Makabe still wasn’t eliminated, btw)

  3. Based on this performance, Mayu had every right to be pissed about not being on the main card last year. Fantastic match

  4. First time seeing a joshi match. Wow, they can go holy shit. I legit could rewatch that over and over.

  5. “An AEW talent is taking a spot on the WK card”

    That’s bad.

“The match is Konosuke Takeshita vs Shingo Takagi”

    That’s good.

“Takeshita is winning, so we’re losing the NEVER title for a while”

    That’s bad.

“We’ll get to see Takeshita back in NJPW to defend and drop the title”

    That’s good

“Takeshita will only appear on the US shows”

    “That’s bad”

    Can I see Douki now?

  6. (Douki injury aside) Anyone else feel like we’re zooming through this? Barely two hours over and we’re into the final big three matches.

  7. Finlay’s entrance video giving the vibes of a Mad Max knock-off you’d buy at Dollar Tree.

  8. Good match.

Finlay isn’t bad in-ring; it’s just everything else.

Thrilled for Tsuji to finally win a belt.

  9. I want to watch the last two matches, but I’m getting tired to the point it’s hard to focus on the match.  Night, all.

Decent show so far.  Not the best WK, but given how poor it looked on paper, it’s blown away my expectstions.

  10. This match has been amazing on a storytelling level. This is legit Shota telling us he’s the next Ace and that he belongs in the Dome Main Event and everyone else doubting the shit out of him, which is slowly frustrating him.

If this leads to him loaing and turning heel at some point this year, this will probably be the match we look as his tipping point.

  11. I was already a big fan of Shota, but he completely blew past the expectations I had for this match great performance for both men.

  12. Amazing Main Event. The storytelling, the psychological work on Shota’s ankle, the crowd being an active participant. Can’t give it anything other than 5 Stars, tbh.

This is probably the start of a very interesting path for Shota Umino, and I’m all in for it. And what to say about Zack Sabre Jr that hasn’t been said yet? If New Japan was getting the coverage they got in the late 2010s this guy would probably be considered by the vast majority of people to be at the Ospreay/Gunther/Cody level of best in the world (which he is, but sadly isn’t known to those who only watch/follow the Western wrestling products). Amazing day for TMDK as well; one Oiwa win away from everyone in that final pic not named Hartley Jackson leaving with gold around their waist.

Overall a different but enjoyable Wrestle Kingdom. Feels a bit weird, mainly cause we have another Dome show in less than 24 hours + the Main Event seems like the continuation of a plot, rather than the culmination of one, but a very fun event nonetheless.
