International student at Kumamoto university

Hello! I am an international student planning on doing an internship at an institute under Kumamoto university during Feb-Mar (35 days). I have never been to Japan but I’m doing my own research on how to navigate my journey but it kinda feels a little overwhelming. It would be helpful if you guys could help me with the following and make my stay more memorable and easy

  1. Which one would be the best SIM card to purchase and what package do I go for?
  2. Common scams/ how to avoid getting scammed (if there are any)
  3. Supermarkets with halal food options and good deals (Need to keep expenses low since I’m a student).
  4. If you could link Videos which you have watched and are important for travel that would be great (eg: for train navigation, places to visit etc).
  5. Places to visit, things to try/avoid.
  6. General/Extra advice. (I want to enjoy my travel while respecting the Japanese people and their culture)

If you are an international/local student yourself, I’d be happy if you’d help me.

Thanks!
