Hi, everyone!
I wasn’t able to play Japanese console games on the TV and in the couch while learning effectively. For this, I needed to be on the PC to search and understand everything that was going on, which wasn’t comfortable.
Long story short, I built an app ‘Kaizen Go!’ specifically to solve this issue I was struggling with. I’ve already beaten RPGs on the Sega Saturn (retro gaming) and I’m already playing others while actually understanding what’s happening and getting better at japanese.
Got some videos in action:
– Pokemon on the switch: [https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Q0dqUySPJT4](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Q0dqUySPJT4)
– Anime watching (Naruto): [https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BEEJ1gCgXZs](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BEEJ1gCgXZs)
– Manga reading (Dragonball): [https://www.youtube.com/shorts/5YOohOBWZMQ](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/5YOohOBWZMQ)
The idea is to let you type japanese text or take a photo from the text and then get explanations, translations, add furigana or ask anything related to japanese language. It breaks down the sentence and explains everything – readings, meanings, conjugations, and the dictionary form of verbs.
There are four AI modes:
* Sentence Explanation: Explains everything, including the functions of words, conjugations, particles, and so on.
* Translation: Translates to and from Japanese.
* Furigana Helper: Adds furigana to any text.
* Language Sensei: Enables free conversation with an AI Japanese language tutor.
The best AI model, Hana, is premium and paid, buy everyone can test it for free. Has furigana, really fast and accurate responses and can also understand images.
I’ve also included Emma, which is a free AI that runs locally on the phone, though this one is not good with readings and will be slower (specially on old phones) it’s actually good with meanings and translations.
