I am a Japanese-American dual citizen who grew up in America. How are the logistics of acquiring a rental in Japan without previous residence history? I am unable to live with my family members, as I am not close enough to ask such a favor of them, so I was either thinking AirBnB for a month or two until I find a place to rent.
Is it an issue to rent in Japan without a history of previous addresses? In the US, you often need references and your previous rental/living history before applying to a place to live. It's not clear to me from browsing online what would be done in my circumstances, or what I would need. It looks like I need to get a Residency Card and guarantor?
