The game in question is [**Touhou Artificial Dream in Arcadia**](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2248430/Touhou_Artificial_Dream_in_Arcadia/); a game that can be described as classic Shin Megami Tensei with a Touhou skin.
I recently played through it and I thought it was quite fun so I wanted to write a little about it. An easy recommendation if you like SMT, retro-style games, dungeon crawler RPGs, etc.
It’s relatively light on text for an RPG but still has a good amount of dialogue. I don’t think it’s too difficult to read and you could probably play it comfortably if you’re around N2-N3 level.
Most of the difficulty comes from the names of the Touhou characters, but many are given the reading in hiragana and they’re also not important to understand the story.
If you’re familiar with ’90s RPGs in Japanese, the topic title might be nothing new to you, but I thought it was interesting enough to warrant a post for people who haven’t seen it before.
Probably some of the kanji is done by purpose because on a crt, with the blurring and everything, it might have looked a bit more like the real thing

Didn’t expect Touhou on my Japanese learning feed, but it’s always a nice surprise.
