Hello all! I studied abroad in Osaka this summer which was a big catalyst that got me interested in JET. I made a ton of Japanese friends in Osaka, and even have a friend in Kobe, but I can imagine Kansai is an immensely popular area. I was hoping I could hear some recommendations for areas that are close to Kansai, such that I could go there on the weekend every once in a while and see my friends. Cheers!
