On average how do Japanese, Korean, and Chinese white collar and blue collar work cultures compare?

I've heard a lot about how East Asia has one of the most stressing work cultures. How do you think the work cultures in Japan, Korean, and Chinese work cultures compare on average?

Which do you think is the most intense, stressful, or most hours worked on average?

  1. I will just share about the Chinese work culture. A lot of the 996 you read about in the news is grossly exaggerated. Sure there are tech companies that expect a lot of their employees but I would say that is specific to their industry. For other industries we go get off at more normal timings. If you take the Beijing subway around 5-6pm you will see that it is packed to the brim with office workers getting off work. Hierarchy is a big thing though. The big boss is literally treated like god and you are obliged to do everything he says even if it means having to come out during weekends or entertaining clients way past work hours.
