I'm the child of a Japanese national. I have a few questions about the documents for a Nikkei visa:
-
Does my visa guarantor have to currently reside in Japan? My mother is Japanese, but doesn't currently reside in-country. Would I still be able to use her as a guarantor?
-
Do I actually need a (Japanese) job to enter on this visa? mofa doesn't mention anything about proof of employment, but the CoE Application asks for employment, so maybe it is? I haven't really seen anyone talk about employment on a spouse/child visa.

I read somewhere that having a high JLPT level will let you renew your visa for longer periods of time, is that true?
