Gyoumu Itaku but work is like regular employee

So I work at an English language school, my job is essentially a blend of office worker and teacher at the same time. I create lesson materials and assist teachers who can't speak Japanese, and I am also responsible for Japanese>English translation requests (with only N2).

I have set hours, 10am-7pm, and anytime I am not teaching classes I am expected to be in the office. While this set up I don't mind, I (and the only other foreigner with the same job as me) are on Gyoumu Itaku contracts. Admittedly I should have researched it properly before accepting this job, but after doing some research yesterday and today, it seems that subjecting an employee to a rigid work schedule under Gyoumu Itaku is potentially illegal? The job is a general 3m a year (however slightly less because I am expected to pay my own consumption tax).

My responsibilities are a stub above eikaiwa, so I was considering bartering with my boss to place me onto another contract to not only increase my take-home pay, but also to not potentially get into trouble with the law?

For reference, I work alongside Japanese staff in the office, speaking with them exclusively in Japanese, and have ZOOM meetings with the whole team in Japanese. However when I asked my Japanese coworker, she told me she was employed as seishain

tl;dr
work scheduled hours (office & teaching blend) but on Gyoumu Itaku contract, is this legal?
