What’s the current best way to mine from animes locally without spending a single penny!

So I use Jidoujisho on my phone and mpv player on my laptop.
But what's the best possible way to lookup words from your local videos . Should I convert my MKV fils into MP4 or M4V and then use asbplayer ?

Or is there any other better method which is free ?
