It's a thought that came to me looking at the two main events from Wk19 & Dynasty. We have two main events that we certainly wouldn't have imagined be the matches to close out the shows.
When I started watching the IWGP heavy title felt like a title that not anyone can win. The title being the legit symbol of excellence where you had talents like Goto, Ishii,Suzuki not holding the gold. If anyone one of them had won it it wouldn’t be shocking looking at the level of work they had.
But now in the new era of the promotion where he got the first Gaijin in a decade to walk in & out of Wk as champion. It really feels like their is no Hierarchy at the top. They don't have that top 4 or Top 6 format anymore where they have certain star that are in that picture on rotation. Not yet anyway depending on how all their young talent go from here on out. I'd go as far to say only 3 of them are closer to that level than the rest atm.
Only time, money, and resources will tell if they can succeed reaching that level again.
