Asking for some advice on this one, on the train I got into an altercation with a Japanese man this week where he kept pushing his elbow into me when I was sitting next to him. when I got up to get off the train he tried to grab my bag which pulled away from him. He then said in Japanese what I was doing, I tried to tell him he kept sticking his elbow into me throughout the train ride, this is my bag not his and to leave me alone. Tried to move away from where he kept trying to grab my bag.
When I got off the train he kept trying to grab me which I did push him off me when trying to leave the station he did try to grab my bag I think maybe two more times.
I didn’t want to go down the stairs in front of him as I was worried he may try to push me down the steps, which I said to him in English “I’m not stupid, I’m not going in front of you, leave me alone”. I also did try to put space between us which he kept closing.
He kept trying to follow me, so I asked him in English to stop causing trouble with me. He did leave me alone after a while but I didn’t leave the train station, only when I got on a different train he left me alone.
My question if I report this,
1) Would I get into trouble for pushing him off me and shouting at him to leave me alone( May of swore at him because as i was worried he was trying to hit him or hurt me)
2) Would the police look for him or do anything to him?
Sorry if this sounds silly, but I don’t want to run into him again in case he does the same to me or to someone else.
