Goto is trapped in Zack's submission but refuses to give up knowing that he will not allow himself to feel the embarrassment of losing another world title match while his father and children watch on.
As Zack uses his knee to apply pressure to Goto's back, he makes a crucial mistake and allows an opening for Goto to get his arm through and reach the ropes. This is when the fire within Goto really gets going.
From this point on Goto is unstoppable nothing Zack does to him will put him down, with every blow Zack deals, Goto has a way to recover and once he lands the Shouten-kai the crowd erupts realizing that today is not the day that Goto gets screwed again.
Zack tries desperately to put Goto away with roll-up after roll-up, but Goto refuses to stay down until he lands the GTR. With the Osaka crowd 100% behind him, he brings Zack up for the final GTR 1… 2… 3. The crowd erupts as Red Shoes slams his hand down.
Goto is finally a world champion.
I Apologize for any grammatical errors or things like that as it is late where I am and I am super tired but I just re-watched the match and it is one that will go down as one of New Japan's greatest.
It is a perfect example of when pro-wrestling just works and everything from the in-ring action and the story behind it just clicks.
I'm so happy that Goto finally won the big one and I hope that we get a nice long reign from him with plenty of incredible matches like this one.
