Dispatch agency fraud

Has anyone been a victim of an agency in Japan that sends out teachers to students’ houses? A certain online company that sends out private tutors has not paid me for my salary in March and April. I’ve been to the Labor Standards Bureau and they tried to contact the lady 3 times but she didn’t respond to them. If anyone can give me further advice, please help me if possible. Thank you!

  1. Depends on which company this is. We can’t really help you without those important details.

Unfortunately, without proper details we can only tell you to wait on the Bureau and hope they can do something or get someone who is Japanese to do the talking on your behalf to expedite the process.

  2. Are you actually under a dispatch contact? In order to be an actual dispatch company you need some standards and reserve capital to function. This sounds like some lady dispatching you to houses, but is not a dispatch company.

Without knowing more, the entire business might be fraudulent. Small claims at best

  3. I remember hearing about a similar outfit to the one you describe. They make it difficult to quit without losing a few month’s payments. The penalties sound like they should be illegal but people sign the contracts.

What are the terms on the contract about quitting? I suspect you signed some bogus contract and so it will be difficult to get paid.

Inform people the name of the company so it’s out there for people to avoid.

  4. Oh, this happened to me too. She just stopped paying me, lied when asked where my money was, and was pissy about me being “unreliable” when I eventually said I couldn’t work until she paid me for the unpaid months. Never got my money. She was also uncontactable. I think this isn’t that rare because it’s easier to exploit foreign workers and it’s not like there’s much anyone can seem to do to force companies to operate honestly. Mine wasn’t the one referenced below, it was a company known by three initials from the owner’s name. I’ll give just the last one. XXK. Same?
