Employer of Record experience?

I have a unique experience of being able to work remotely anywhere in the world. Our CEO has moved to Greece and other staff have chosen New Zealand.

I grew up in Japan for elementary school and high school but moved to USA for college and stayed. I’m thinking of wanting to return back to Japan given the opportunity. My wife and I luckily speak and fluently read three languages (English, Chinese and Japanese). Japanese reading and writing at a college level as we both had that as our second degree (Japanese Language with focus on Business). We have a three year old daughter.

I’ve applied for the Taiwan Gold Visa as a backup; and looked briefly at Japan’s digital nomad visa but that’s only 6 months with no renewal. The other method I saw was an EoR / GEO which seems to allow for a longer stay.

Would prefer Japan if possible but unsure how to navigate or what to specifically look for.
