Hey guys,
I’m currently in the process of applying for a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) to study at a Japanese language school, and I’m a bit nervous about the financial requirements. My school asked for the following proof of funds:
– A salary of at least 80,000 yen in my home country.
– At least 1.7 million yen in a bank account.
Here’s what I submitted:
– A salary of 500,000 yen in my home country (way above their minimum).
– 3.1 million yen in funds, but 90% of this amount is tied up in an investment that takes 15 days to liquidate. The bank statement doesn’t specify this, though—it just shows the total balance.
I’m working with an agency, and they assured me this wouldn’t be a problem. My documents are already with the school in Japan, and they’ll be submitting them to the immigration office soon.
Has anyone here successfully gotten their COE approved by showing proof of funds through investments or similar situations? Do you think my application will be okay, or should I be worried?
Thanks in advance for any advice or shared experiences!
