Hi! I'm considering a move to Japan (assuming I can eventually land a job, of course), and I'm doing some research on the HSP Visa. My main concern is around the kinds of work my wife will be allowed to do, and her long term status in Japan.
-
Is it correct that she can do any type of job for up to 28 hours per week, OR she can work full time in one of the specific professions (Researcher, Instructor, Engineer, Specialist in Humanities/International Services, Entertainer)? I saw the 28 hours mentioned on https://www.tn-office.jp/14012615310068 and a few other websites, however I wasn't able to find it from an official source.
-
Would she be allowed to start a business (say working < 28 hours per week, or in one of those special professions) instead of working for a company?
-
If I'm able to become a PR after 1/3 years, would she be able to apply for a Spouse of PR visa right away? And I assume there won't be any work restrictions afterwards?
And about the Spouse of PR visa:
-
I read that the Spouse of PR visa isn't permanent and needs to be renewed every 1/3/5 years. Is it generally going to be approved?
-
What's the process for a Spouse of PR to become a PR? The MOJ website says "原則として引き続き10年以上本邦に在留していること。ただし、この期間のうち、就労資格(在留資格「技能実習」及び「特定技能1号」を除く。)又は居住資格をもって引き続き5年以上在留していることを要する。" Does spouse of PR automatically count as a 就労資格, or will she need to obtain a separate working visa?
Thanks in advance for your advices and feedback!
