Hello everyone,
I need a reality check, already made a research on the topic and apparently there should be no issue on inmigration's end but can lead to some issues with whoever was giving you the opportunity.
I'm applying to a language school, was admitted, my COE has already been approved (still hasn't been sent to me) and now I only have to pay for tuition fee.
The issue is: my mom has to undergo a major surgery and while we still don't have a specific date it will most likely be by the time I would be expected to enter japan (beginning of April). With a recovery period of 1~1.5 months and need to be taken care of quite closely to avoid any complications, it is almost implicit within my family (but also my personal desires, as I would be quite uneasy in Japan thinking about mom's recovery) that I should back out and instead aim for October's period.
Honestly I'm a bit scared backing out will result in me not getting this oppotunity again, although for what I've read it seems it would be only the school who would "blacklist me" and not immigration, of course I'm thinking to ask the doctor for a medical certificate, but I would like a reality check before getting back to the agent who is managing my application.
