I just came across a JET blog online where the author talks about how he spent 50 – 100 hours writing his SOP, which made me think "is this guy crazy or is my SOP nowhere near as good as it should be?" I know obviously there's a lot of brainstorming, editing, and revising that goes into making a SOP as its the most important part of your application, but at the end of the day, it's a pretty short document (only two pages double spaced).
I've probably spent about 15- 20 hours working on mine and overall I feel happy with it, so I'm just wondering generally how long most applicants spend working on theirs?
