Camping on the beach is not technically legal, so I have not done it. The only legal camping in japan is at designated campgrounds. I hear people do it on outer islands where there’s less likelihood of seeing other people…but around the main island my guess is you’re going to be right next to someones house no matter where you are, and it won’t be very wild at all.
Unless you’re up in yanbaru then it’s a national park and…I dunno then you’re breaking the law in a national park? …This is why I haven’t done it even though I hear it’s done. Too many moving parts in a language I don’t speak well enough.
Yellow hand
White beach has camp sites that are 10 feet from the sand but you would have to be able to get on base.
