Question about 30 year age limit for extending the Working Holiday Visa (Canada 🇨🇦)

Hello all! I have a question about the age limit for the Working Holiday Visa between Canada and Japan.

I'm currently 30 and will turn 31 in August. If I apply for the visa now and enter Japan in September, will I still be eligible for the 1-year extension even though I'll be well over 30 by then?

The official guidelines state that applicants must be 18-30 at the time of application, but they don't mention whether this applies to extensions. Specifically they state:

"A period of stay of up to 1 year may be initially granted at the port of entry. This may be extended for up to an additional 1 year by the Immigration Authorities in Japan, if you have not already stayed in Japan longer than one year in total under this program."

Has anyone here successfully extended their Working Holiday Visa after turning 31? Or does anyone know someone who was denied for being over 30 during the extension process? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
