Interpretation Masters

Hello everyone,

I finished my bachelor’s degree in translation and interpretation (English-Arabic). I am looking to continue my masters in Japan to become a Japanese-English-Arabic interpreter.

I contacted Rikkyo university in Tokyo and they made it very clear that I have to pass N1 test to graduate (I can apply for the entrance exam, but to graduate, I have to pass the N1 test). The issue is less about ability and more about the time and effort required for study.

I come from a third world country so paying for tuition with anything other than financial aid or MEXT is sadly just not possible. They sent me some guidelines in Japanese which I cannot read yet.

Should I learn Japanese intensively this year and apply to the university even if I don’t get the MEXT scholarship? How can I continue my masters there given my financial difficulties?

I’m sorry about the long paragraphs, but any kind of information would be helpful.
