Hello! I'll be studying abroad in Kyoto for the Fall semester, and while I’ve visited Tokyo before, this will be my first time in Kyoto—so I’m going in semi-blind.
I’m vegetarian and had no issues in Tokyo, but I’m wondering if things will be different in Kyoto. Are there good vegetarian-friendly spots or any challenges I should be aware of?
For those who have lived in or visited Kyoto, are there any key things I should know? Any must-pack items that might not be obvious? I’d love any advice on daily life, weather, cultural differences, or recommendations for places to check out!
I’ll also be moving to Tokyo at the end of the semester, so any tips on the best way to transport my belongings from Kyoto to Tokyo would be greatly appreciated.
