First time applicant considering the JET Program! I’ve heard a lot of mixed things on here about the influence or lack thereof of placement requests, but one of them is that you’re more likely to get something close to your request if it’s not as high-demand. Do you guys have any idea if requesting a place like Toyama City or another nearby city within the Toyama prefecture would come with a moderate chance of me getting placed there, were I to be accepted? My Japanese isn’t extremely strong, which I’m hoping means I wouldn’t get placed somewhere super rural, but besides that what’s your guys’ experience with placement requests?
