I work in the IT field for a U.S.-based company that has branches worldwide, including Tokyo, Japan. I’ve been offered a position there with an annual salary of 11500000 yen. I have a wife and three kids, and none of us speak Japanese.
Considering housing, education, healthcare, and general cost of living, would this salary allow us to live comfortably in Tokyo? What challenges should I expect, especially with language barriers and schooling for my kids?
Any insights or advice from those familiar with living in Japan as a foreigner would be greatly appreciated!

With 3 kids who don’t speak Japanese you’re talking about international schools at 2-3 million yen/year/kid.
So in your case: No. You won’t be able to live comfortably on that because you’ll be spending 1/2 to 3/4 of your income on tuition.
