Japan Permanent Residency based on the 10-year rule

I lived in Japan from 2010 to 2017, then left the country. I returned in December 2020 as a Master’s degree student and have been living here continuously since then.
In total, I have approximately 11 years of residence in Japan, although there was a 3-year gap due to my child’s illness and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Given this situation, am I still eligible to apply for Permanent Residency based on the 10-year rule?
Has anyone had a similar experience or been approved despite a gap in residency?
